Toolbars grayed out in forms

Post by paulaha »

Hi,

After creating a table and a form Im now trying to add information in my form but the form Navigation toolbar and the form design toolbar are grayed out.
Can write data in the fields but cant save it. After entering all the data in the fields the cursor goes back to field number one?? What did I do wrong?

It can not be that, Form navigation toolbar active when you in data input mode, and Form design Toolbar in Edit mode.
After data input click on Save record icon on form navuigation toolbar, or next record icon.

Possibly your table not has a primary key.
Open your table in edit mode, and check it one of the fields needs to be marked with small key, before field name.
If you not have it, add key to one of the fields which will contain data not repeating, or add new field ID with integer type and set Autovalue to yes.

Memo field can not be set as primary key, add ID and set as Integer, Autovalue=Yes .

Another problem is similar bug described in issue 111295.

How you created this database, on what OS and in OOo version?

Can I add your file as example?

Should I download (http://download.openoffice.org/) 3.2.1? Cant find anywhere to update OOo. Doesnt my data disappear if I download the new version?

Yes.

Your data folder will not hurt during download and installation.

Best to unistall 3.2 first and after that install 3.2.1
