[Solved] Black marker at paper edge possible?

Post by EinarFlydal »

Does anyone know about a way to insert a black marker at paper edge, like the ones you can frequently see in travellers' guidebooks?
In my case, such markers will be used to indicate the various sections of the book.
The paper format is A4.
The margins are set at 4 cm.
So the black markers should, if they are e.g. 1 by 1 cm, be located at 3,5 cm to 4,5 cm from right paper edge.
They should be set for each section of the book.

Would be very helpful if possible...

I presume from the measurements you give that you are printing a smaller page on an A4 sheet? If so, try anchoring a frame in your Page Header or Footer. positioning it where required and filling it.

If you are printing an A4 sheet to an A4 sheet, there will be other problems, as many printers will not/cannot print to paper edge.
Edit: Another method would be to define a Page Style(s) for each section, with the black marker as a background image on such styles.
