I have a text which uses Arabic (i.e. standard) numerals for the main text (starting with page 1), and Roman numerals (i- viii) in the introductory material. When I insert a new TOC,all the page numbers are correct, but the page references to the introductory material are in Arabic numerals -correct page numbers, but wrong character set. Is there any way to have this show correctly?

Thanks.

The TOC will use the number format specified on the Page tab of the Page Style dialog. You probably left that as 1, 2, 3 and changed the number format in the Page Number field from "As Page Style" to "Roman" when you added page numbers to the page. The page numbers will then be Roman on the page, but Arabic in the TOC. Right-click one of the introductory pages and select "Page". On the Page Style dialog, select the Page tab and change the "Format" from "1, 2, 3..." to "i, ii, iii...".
