[Solved] OpenOffice Writer, Forms, List Box Problem

Postby 093N0FF1C3H3L9 » Mon Aug 17, 2015 4:14 pm

I'm trying to make a basic form using Open Office Writer. I tried to follow the instructions found at https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Docume ... imple_form. My problem is that after inserting the list box, opening the Control Properties, I can't seem to enter the list Entries properly. I believe I followed the ";" syntax correctly, and tried a number of variations, but always get the same result. The result is a single, and very long line in the list box containing all the entries, semicolons and quote marks, and, "Yes," I mean after I turn design mode off. I also tried to experiment with the Data Tab, "Type of List Contents," field and tried various data types. Currently, I've left it at, "Value List." Is it me, or the program?

Separate the entries with Shift+Enter line breaks. This will write one entry below the other.
Finish the last entry with Enter.
The result will be shown in one line as
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
"Line 1";"Line 2";"Line 3"

You can also type the list into some other text edit window, copy the list, click the entry box, hit Alt+Down, paste (Ctrl+V) and hit Enter.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.

These instructions worked perfectly. Thank you! Clearly, the instructions in the online literature need clarifying.
