How do you put text over a front & back cover pic?
I inserted a front cover pic onto the 1st page & a back cover pic onto the 2nd page. They are anchored on there. Now all I want to do is add the text over them - this is apparently impossible. I tried adding a frame over the front cover pic but it inserts a gray rectangle that covers part of the cover pic, and it needs to be transparent. I'm sure there's some simple thing I'm not doing right but ATM I'm stumped. Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Oh, well in that case I need to delete the cover pages(there's no clear command for that) or remove the pics I inserted, and instead use Format-Background. Anyone know how to delete a page you already created?

If it's a custom page format, just reapply the default format, and then right-click on the Style of the custom page and delete it.Moe Shinola wrote:Oh, well in that case I need to delete the cover pages(there's no clear command for that) or remove the pics I inserted, and instead use Format-Background. Hello Moe, (hehe that's kinda funny
)
Apparently its not impossible. I found a work around to your problem. Here are the instructions. Hope they work out:
*Take this example picture first
P.S I'm terribbly sorry about the low pixel cut. I had to resize the image to make smaller KB size. Did it too much. lol
1.) Go to View ---> Toolbars ---> Fontwork The toolbar should look like this:
2.) Now click fontwork gallery. The read arrow should be pointing to it.
3.) Choose your fontwork style.
4.)Now after you do this, you should have a variety of things to do with it. Such as change its color, texture, shape, and all sorts of cool stuff. But you would notice that its "still" behind the picture. Awww...
5.) No matter, the only thing you need to do is click Bring to Front. Take this picture for example:
6.) Ah ah, now you have it in the front.
If this isn't what you were looking for, I'm very sorry. But this is honestly the only work around i know so far. If i find anything I'll make sure to post it. I was glad to help.

P.S. I just realized that what i told you may have not been what you were looking for. Do you have a single picture, or is the entire page a picture? No matter,
This is another solution. It "is" possible to insert a text box. If you type in the text it will stand out over the picture. However, there is no way to change the color. It will stay plain black no matter what. I'm not sure how to overcome this.
I was also curious. What kind of document are you creating? I may have another software that could be more benificial in correspondence to your document.

Re: How do you put text over a front & back cover pic?
I would do the following which works
1 Type the text onto the empty page
2 Insert the image with Insert > Picture > from file
3 Drag the buttons to size the picture
4 Set the wrap and anchor options.
- r-click image > Anchor > To paragraph.
- r-click image > Wrap > In background
Wrapping in background allows you to type over the image
