How do I add additional fonts to the list that comes with Open Office? I have searched help and the users manual and cannot find this information. Thanks!

You install fonts on your computer (Control Panel / Fonts, unless this has changed in Windows 7) then you restart OpenOffice, including the Quickstarter. Easiest to reboot your computer.

A useful source of free fonts (there are many others of course): Broble.

It used be the case, possibly still is, that free downloadable fonts can be of uncertain quality in terms of line and character spacing. They may also lack extended characters; we Europeans often find the euro symbol missing, for example. I'm not condemning all downloadable fonts out of hand, just drawing attention to some problems that they may introduce.

If you don't have the Control Panel set to "Classic View" in Windows 7 or Vista, it's probably easier to find the fonts folder by clicking the Start button and typing "fonts" in the search box.
