I am trying to scan a document into Writer. I'm able to select source, but when I try to request the scan, nothing happens.
Does anyone know how to resolve this. I have been able to scan in the past

Use the workaround of scanning, saving to a JPG (photo) or PNG (graphic) file and inserting the saved file.

If you want insert a textual content, then you must use a third party character/text recognition software during/after the scan procedure.
The AOO/LO has not such feature.
