[Solved] How to assign new template to Writer document

Hi,

I miss the menu item File > Templates > Assign Template (current document) as described for OO 3.x here: https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Docume ... a_template

I used this function before, now switched over to a new machine, installed current stable version of writer - and found that the menu item to assign a new / different template to an existing (and open) document seems to be removed. How can I do that in OO writer 4.1.5?

To open a new document based on the new template and copy and paste the content from the other document - as a workaround - is not practicable because I use indexes => mark all > copy > paste does not work.

Background information: I use this to assign a different layout to a copy of an document (fe.g. to build a version for ebook reader).

Kind regards,
Martin Lindenlauf

You need to install the Template Changer extension which provides that function:
