Business Check Template

Post by juggernautsei »

I was searching for a business check template to speed up my process. I did not find one. So, I built one. But then, I wanted to submit it and there was no place I could find to share the template. That is why I am posting this message.

I generally print on blank check stock. http://www.staples.com/DocuGard-Securit ... t_PRB04502 (plug for them).

Contrary to popular belief. You don't have to have micr ink to print checks from your home laser printer. The bank would like it if you did but the check will make it through the system without the micr ink.

The biggest challenge with the template is installing the Micr fonts. Once you have MICR fonts install and apply them to the bottom row of numbers. It will be an official check.

The first set of numbers at the bottom is the check number, next account number and then the routing number.

Here's the location I think you are actually needing. http://templates.openoffice.org/en/template/guide

Thanks for the link.
I got through everything and can I suggest that in the instructions on how to upload.
Tell people to click to add content.

I just happen to be familiar with drupal and just happen to see the Add Content button and knew what that meant.

It might take others longer because in the upload instructions this tid bit is not mentioned at all.

But the system errored when I tried to upload, twice.

Also, anyone needing the MICR fonts you can download them from http://www.fontspace.com/digital-graphi ... r-encoding

I have attached an updated version of the template based on the rules for uploading the template.

ENJOY

I found the answers so this is for next person

for the font you need to unzip and then copy the font file in there (on windows platforms) to \windows\fonts\

for the template it doesn't actually get installed you simple double click or open the file and edit and save and/or print
