Batch Downloading of Templates?

Post by Frank W »

Greetings to all,

I have been using OpenOffice for quite some time now, first under Windows and now on Ubuntu. IMHO, it's the best thing to happen to a productivity suite!

Recently, I had occasion to go looking through all of the various templates cleaver users have created and have chosen to share with other users. There are some really great looking ones available! It seems to me though that somewhile back, I remember being able to download a compressed file that contained an assortment of templates that shared a common theme such as envelopes, or labels, invoices, etc. Looking through the Open Office Templates section this evening, I was able to find many interesting templates, but found that I had to download each one individually. Now this is okay, but why is it that template 'collections' no longer seem to be available? Or was I just not using the correct search parameters?

Regards,

Frank :ugeek:

Yes, there are webpages for collect the existing templates.
Threre are categorized, searchable collections:
http://templates.openoffice.org
http://templates.libreoffice.org/templa ... hableText=

and there are batched collections (one contains templates only, others contain extensions and templates too...):
http://www.libreoffice-na.us/English-4. ... lates.html
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/pro ... -templates (Note: This batched collection is not updated recently.)

All of existing templates (created by the community) not needed for the most of the users.
My opinion:
It is better way to search, choose, download and install templates (one-by-one) you really needed.
