When I open files previously created and saved in MS Word, "(read only)" appears in the file name. In each case, the .doc file was NOT saved with the property, read only, and that does not appear in the properties of the file. When I attempt to use the "Edit File" icon, I still cannot edit the document. If I click "Edit File" again, Open Office crashes. I have uninstalled Open Office , downloaded and installed the newest version, 4.1.2. Is there some general setting that I'm missing or another way of removing the "read only" file property so thatbI can edit my previously created .doc files?
