[Issue] Envelope insert always uses default template

I have been trying to configure OpenOffice 2.4 envelope printing for my users and have run into a real problem that I can't solve.
When you use the Insert --> Envelope option, configure the envelope for US #10, and then choose the Insert button, it then inserts the envelope at the beginning of the document as it should. However, it always changes the envelope settings back to the original envelope style that is preset in the original OpenOffice default template which is a user defined custom envelope size that doesn't work with our printers. I have created my own default template which works fine for every thing else but this one feature. It ignores my envelope style settings in my new template and always reverts back to the original that came with OpenOffice. This works exactly the same on the Windows or Linux versions of the program.
The New Doc button within the utility works properly. It is just the Insert button that appears to be hard coded to use the original envelope style.
Unfortunately, this is turning into a real show-stopper for getting this client to migrate from MS Office because they generate many letters and want the envelope to become part of the original document. I have created a template with an envelope already pre-pended to the letter body which works in some situations but not all.
Can I possibly edit the common.xul file and fix this? What should I look for in the file?
