How to use Template

Hi all:

I just downloaded a template for Avery 5160 mailing labels. I found the folder under downloads but not sure what to do next in order to use it in openoffice. any suggestions? I'm using 4.0
OpenOffice 3.9 on Windows 7

Greetings and welcome to the community forum!

What format is the template document--.odt? .doc? Something else?

If you have an .odt template, you can just open it as usual; OO will see that it's a template and start a new untitled document. If you want to access the template from the menus, then you have to use File > Templates > Organize and import the template file.

This template is also built in to OOo. Use File-->New Labels. On the Labels Tab under Brand select Avery Letter Size and under type select 5160.
