[Solved] Copy/paste little grey blocks

Post by dasupa »

Hi,

I've been copying and pasting texts from an online site to my open office writer for quite a while now. But I bought a new laptop and now when I copy/paste anything, little grey blocks pop up on the left side of the page at the beginning of each sentence. I even tried pasting it first into Word, then transferring it to Open Office, but still the same result. Is there any way I can copy/paste without dealing with these little grey blocks?

Thanks,

David

The little gray blocks are (most likely) non-breaking spaces. OOo Writer displays them with a gray background to distinguish them from regular spaces. They do not print like that; try File > Page Preview or click-off edit mode to see a clean view.

In the view menu you can turn off Field Shadings (shortcut Ctl + F8).
