Can you give us the address for the templates, so we can give it a try?

Have you downloaded a .zip file? If so, try to rename it as .oxt and open it with OOo (Tools>Extension manager>Add).

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

I renamed the file to .oxt and added it, now it's saying that the media can't be loaded

Change the extension to .ott. Then open it with Writer.

And in addition, you probably should change your Internet Browser, as IE8 can interfere with download extensions, as you have found out.

Once you download the file, change the .zip to .ott and open it with OOo.

Renaming a file does not change a single byte. All ODF files (.odt, .ods, .odp, .odg and the templates .ott, ots,...) are xml files in a zip archive actually.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
