Howdy. I am familiar with the process of setting up a new template (New Template Tutorial.
It works great in NeoOffice 3.1.1. In the Template Organize window I can double click on a folder on the left, and it shows the documents under it. When I select one, then when I go to the Commands button in the drop down list I can choose "set as default template."
However, in OO.org 3.2, when I go to File > Templates > Organize, the resulting window shows as it should but two things happen. If I double click on the folder on the left, OO crashes. If I go to the right side with the Commands button, when it opens, there are only choices: "Printer settings" and "Update." Hence, there is no ability to set the default template.
Yes, I have changed the User profile. Yes, I have even removed everything (Prefs, etc.) and reinstalled from scratch. Still the problem persists.
Any ideas?

Re: Template Problems in Mac OS X
Interestingly with OO.Org 3.3 dev the problem seems to have taken care of itself.
