Avery Template 8126 (Internet Shipping Labels)

Hi all, this is my first post on here and I hope someone can help me.

I have been packing 50+ boxes and need to put an inventory list as well as a box number on the outside.

For Example:

BOX 1 of ???

Contents:

109 CD's

I typed out 50 sheets on the Open Office . org Calc and now can't print these docs onto the the paper I bought. I bought today (not much available locally) Avery White Internet Shipping Labels as they are adhesive and big enough for me to type on the details. I was hoping to avoid having to tape on each sheet I print up the normal way as it will use a lot of Clear Tape. These Avery Shipping Labels just peel and stick.

Edited to Add:- I have decided to re-type all 50+ sheets in Writer so all I would need to know is how to get this particular Template to work with Open Office.

Please help or suggest an alternative.

Thanks

All you need is the information in a table (a spreadsheet is ok); then, you can create a Writer document that has special fields marking the location of each piece of information you want on the label. OOo can then "merge" the data in the table with the Writer document and print the labels for you.

Here's a good article on how this works: http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/art ... office_org

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you (acknak) for solving this issue. I haven't went about attempting to print off any shipping labels just yet, but I'm sure that this will work just fine. I'm pretty new to Open Office and I was trying to figure out the same thing as Alsatianx here! I work in wholesale, so we ship stuff out all the time. We're trying to get away from the tedious task of taping all of our labels on and using stickers. Like Alsatianx, we're using Avery Template 8126 shipping labels. Unfortunately, I wasn't sure how the heck to format the page to print properly. Either way, I'm glad that someone managed to figure it out -- so thank you! I'll be sure to come back if I have anymore issues. Thanks again SO much!!! Sorry for bringing up an older topic. . .but you really did help me out! =D
