Hi!

How do I PERMANENTLY change the Default Font?

With a Writer document open, select the menu Tools -> Options, expand the OpenOffice Writer list on the left and choose Basic Fonts. You can make adjustments there.
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint

Or make a custom (default) template, see: [Tutorial] Creating a new default template.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.
