It is possible to make a bar code scanner in this macro basic plat form, if excel do?

im using base and macro basic
OpenOffice 3.3 on Windows XP

If it is implemented as Excel add-in, it can not be used on this office.

you're right, but some of the commands in excel can do with calc (in the other way, with the use of BASIC)

my question is this

i hope someone, had integrate the barcode scanner in macro basic but in the other way

There are a couple of extensions. This search may help.

but i think i need a .dll file of scanner

and a extension of open office where it can connect open office to scanner
