XIndexReplacer not working in OOo3

I am creating macro to customize Numbering Rules using XIndexReplacer(replaceByIndex function). It was working well with OOo 2.3 version. However, it is not working with OOo 3 . It gives me IllegalArgumentException error. Is there any other way to set Numbering Rules properties without using replaceByIndex function?
OOo 3.0.X on Ms Windows XP + Ubuntu
