[Solved] Black text on a dark blue background is unreadable!

I might as well uninstall OpenOffice because i can't read the buttons.

There is a complaint about this that was made in 2010 and clearly nothing has been done to improve the situation in almost a decade.

Simply change your colours.

Great suggestion 'Simply change your colours."

How?

But why has the application continued with such a poor choice of default colors for so long? I mean for an old person such as myself the only worse choice would be black text with a black background.

Use >Preferences >Options >OpenOffice >Appearance and change the background from Dark Blue (or Automatic) to a lighter blue. Alternately you may be able to change the entire configuration of the computer desktop to some other schema.

I am not a Mac user, so can't be of more specific help that this, but I am sure there will be useful suggestions.

Each computer's Operating System's desktop appearance is set by predefined schemas, which can usually be changed by system settings. It is probable that your computer has defaulted to the one you find unreadable.

If you are in doubt, wait for specific help from a Mac user.
