[Solved] Error message "Developer cannot be verified"

Post by hnotter »

I just downloaded OpenOffice 4.1.7 on my MacBook. I have OS Catalina. When I try to open OpenOffice, I get the following error message: "OpenOffice cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware." Has anyone else encountered this message and does anyone know of any solutions?

Thank you,
Heather

Welcome to the Forums.
If you had searched the forums for that error message, you would've found that it's come up a fair bit.
Read the Mac FAQ specifically Q05/A05
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)
