When I exit a page, my options to save or discard or whatever are subdued by a dark blue "fill". I can't see the text. How do I remove or change the fill in the boxes that say "save" or "discard" or "?".

Try a different operating system theme.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I will guess you are using MacOS. Fix your forum signature in User Control Panel → Profile → Edit Signature so it shows your operating system and the version of OpenOffice you are using.

[Tutorial] Mac FAQ Q47/A47.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

As I suggested - try a different theme for your Mac.

Not sure what you mean by Theme? In the system Preferences under General I can chose Light or Dark. Doesn't make any difference.

This is a setting on the Mac, controlling its overall appearance. Not using a Mac I cannot direct you further.

Had no impact. I just want to change the dark blue boxes that seem to be a default controlled/set by AOO. Is there an AOO preference that changes this?

MrProgrammer’s post above contains a suggestion to look at a solution in the Mac FAQ.
