Hi, I have installed Open Office 4.1.5 under macOS high sierra version 10.13.6 and each time I try to open it, the following message pops up in an infinite loop: "OpenOffice quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application gain. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."

Welcome to the Forums.
Many Apple users have recently found that Apple's Gatekeeper program is preventing OpenOffice from running.
While I don't use a Mac, and therefore can't give you steps to check the Gatekeeper settings, I believe that those settings are where you need to go to allow OpenOffice to run.

If it is the Gatekeeper program, see
Q05 here.

Thank you. I hold the control key and click OpenOffice.app, then I select Open - and then the "OpenOffice quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application gain." message pops up.

I also am not a Mac user, so cannot help further than with my earlier posting. Perhaps a Mac user will chime in with help.
