I am a new user of calc. I am using openoffice calc on a macbookpro,OS X El capitan 10.11.6.
I am attempting to fill a column with ascending numbers. I tried using the 'fill' command under the 'edit' option on the toolbar. All of the options under 'fill' were greyed out. I seem to remember that I used this function before without any problems. I must be doing something wrong but I cannot work out what it is! Can anyone help please?

Re: fill command under edit is greyed out
Did you select a range of cells to fill? If I have only one cell selected, all of the options are grey.
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint
