Hello, I'm trying to use hyphenation features in OOo 3 but apparently I can't.
After setting up the appropriate options in the Styles editor and in the Options->Language->Writing Aids section, nothing happens: words are not hyphenated even if I run the tool from the menu. The funny thing is that I can see the hyphenation working when OOo does autocompletion, but as soon as I type the complete word or I press enter to accept the suggested autocompletion, the word is not hyphenated. Is this a common problem? Is anyone else having trouble with this?
Thesaurus and spell check, on the other hand, work without problems.
Also, hyphenation works like a charm in NeoOffice (Mac OS X version of OOo 2).
Any ideas?
Thanx

Hyphenation works fine for me. I am using a newer version than you. OO.o 3.0.0 – OOO300m3 (Build:9344)
In Preferences/Language/Writing Aids/Available language modules do you have Hyphonator checked? There also a setting under Options to Hyphenate without inquiry.
In the paragraph style you are using under "Text Flow" have you checked Hyphenation/Automatically?

Yes to all of your questions. All enabled (in NeoOffice, with the same settings, everything works fine).
The strange thing is that when OOo tries to autocomplete words, they are hyphenated. When I type them, or press enter to accept the suggestion, they are not hyphenated anymore.
I'll try the newest version... as soon as I understand where can be downloaded.
Is anyone having similar problems? It's just me?

The official Sun builds are here (US English and Intel only for the Mac builds)ctbk wrote: I'll try the newest version... as soon as I understand where can be downloaded.

For builds in all languages (Intel and PPC) NOTE: US English builds do not have '_en-US' in the filename.

Sorry I do not have any more suggestions to get hyphenation working for you. It may be related to the new method of handling dictionaries in OO.o 3. I've read about problems with spell checking. I still have my Canadian English dictionary, thesaurus, and hyphenater in my profile. If I have time, I will delete them and see if hyphenation works in US English.
