[Solved] Will OpenOffice work on macOS High Sierra?

Post by mippymap »

Hello

I've read that there could be problems with trying to run Microsoft Office on macOS High Sierra, so wondering if current or future versions of OpenOffice will work on macOS High Sierra please?

Thank you

Either read the Installation Instructions - System Requirements, or try it and find out for yourself.

I did try to find out for myself, but the only system requirements I could find are very old...

Would be grateful if anyone knows please?

Download Apache OpenOffice says OS X 10.7 (Lion) or higher.

What happened when you tried it?

Current system requirements show Lion (OSX 10.7) or later.

Given it appears High Sierra hasn't yet been released, it will probably be a case of TIAS when the time comes; there have been a few oddities with previous MacOS releases and AOO.
Edit: Seems a beta version is available; works with
MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
MacBook (Late 2009 and later)
MacBook Air (2010 and later)
Mac Pro (2010 and later)
iMac (Late 2009 and later)
Mac mini (2010 and later)

Hi,
Just installed High Sierra and apart from a couple of glitches (which may not be OO's fault) seems to be working OK
