Switching files from Windows to Mac

I have been using a windows computer and i have my files on that computer. I started using a Mac and I downloaded OpenOffice. Is there a way to switch these files to my Mac?
Open office 3 Windows Vista and open office 4Mac OS 10.11.5

Copy to USB stick and from USB stick to the other computer.

Be certain to observe the USB device removal protocols for your operating system(s), as otherwise your files may be incomplete and corrupted.
