How to Update OpenOffice 4.1.2 to 4.1.3 on a Mac?

Post by SYY »

I have OpenOffice 4.1.2 installed on a 2011 MacBook Air running OS X El Capitan. I have 2 questions:

1. If you have experience running OpenOffice 4.1.3 on a Mac with El Capitan is it running smoothly?
2. How do I update from 4.1.2 to 4.1.3? Do I have to uninstall 4.1.2 first, and then install 4.1.3? Or do I just install 4.1.3 without uninstalling 4.1.2?

Thanks!
OpenOffice 4.1.2 on Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11.6

Regarding updating, if you do (and did) a standard installation, then your installation of OO 4.1.3 will overwrite the installation of OO 4.1.2

Most, if not all, of the posts I've seen regarding troubles with running Open Office on a Mac are in regards to running it on Sierra (10.12.X)
See OO 4.1.3 will not open only once in Mac Sierra 10.12 for the most recent discussion and/or search use the forum search (located near the top of the screen on the right hand side)
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)
