[Solved] OpenOffice won't quit

Up till a few days ago, when I shut down my Mac, all the programs closed. Then I started getting the message that OO canceled the shutdown and I had to quit it first. Trouble is, it won't quit unless I use force quit. The quit option in the OO menu is grayed out. Last night I tried quitting before shutdown. It was already grayed out.

So I always get a window that says. "The last time you opened OpenOffice, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?" It has buttons for reopen and do not reopen, neither of which do anything and the window never closes. "Help" only shows me the menu items I can't use.

So how can I get it working properly again?

My suggestion:
1) Force Quit Open Office (if active)
2) Reset user profile
3) Restart your computer.
4) Post back, especially if this does not resolve your problem.... but I think it will.

Please search first before posting. You could have found some of the topics below instead of waiting for a reply.

This is a Mac OS X problem, not an OpenOffice/LibreOffice problem, so reinstalling the suite will not solve it. Resetting the user profile won't help either. Read the information about your Mac's org.openoffice.script.savedState or org.libreoffice.script.savedState folder in Release Notes → Known Issues.
