I gleamed the following instructions from a YouTube video. Before I execute these steps I thought it might be wise to ask the user forum if it is a valid method.
Removing OpenOffice profile information on a Mac:
1. Close OO
2. Open Utilities folder
3. Open Terminal Application
4. Type “Open Library” at Terminal Prompt
5. Click on the “Application Support” folder
6. Delete or rename the “OpenOffice” folder
7. Exit Terminal, Type “Exit” at Terminal Prompt
8. Restart Open Office.

Re: Resetting User Profile Data ?
They would work, but it is not necessary to use Terminal. Terminal is the command line. A typo in your command can cause problems.jackrcook wrote:Thanks Z, But what about steps 2 through 8. Do you endorse them?
Instead:
Open Finder
On the menu bar click on "Go"
Press and hold the Option Key
Click on Library in the drop down menu
Navigate to Application Support/OpenOffice/4/user and delete or rename the "user" folder
BTW the Survival Guide for this forum recommends doing a search first. This question has been answered countless times.
In the Tutorial section there is a tutorial on the user profile.
"Quickstarter" is a Window's feature. Not applicable to Macs.BTW, what is "quickstarter" ??

Re: Resetting User Profile Data ?
Thanks Larry,
What happens if I don't drill all the way down to the "user" folder but delete from the "openoffice" folder ? This is what the video instructions indicated.
Does it re-create the entire application support folder from scratch?

Doesn't matter which level you delete. A new profile will be created.jackrcook wrote:Thanks Larry,
