[Solved] Insert Note Causes OO to Hang (10.5.3)

Hi Everyone,

The note function in Beta 3 is great but since 10.5.3 inserting a note in Writer causes OO to hang. Has anyone else noticed this? I've updated the OS on both of my computers so I can't be certain it's 10.5.3, but each version of Beta 3 (including 19) hangs when inserting a note.

Thanks for your reply. It is similar, but it is not an import problem -- it happens with new documents too. Seems as though they are onto it although the problem persists with version 19.

Interestingly, I just downloaded and installed version 10 -- that was the last one that I remember working correctly. And it still does -- it inserts a note correctly. So it is something in subsequent versions that was not there in version 10. Do you think I should report this in the bug database?

I just installed version 20 and everything seems to be working fine.

Are you talking about the 2.0? It's a deprecated version, latest is 2.4.1. The new features for notes is to be introduced in the 3.0 version so you can install 2.4.1 safely.

Slightly off topic, but there is a bug #90817 (unexpected indentation) that has been documented as fixed in M20.
When will M20 be available in a beta/official release? Is there a way for me to be able to test this fix asap?

That is a quite old build. the developer builds are up to _m31 now. There was another beta since your copy. Release candidate 1 is now available. RC 2 should be out in a couple of days and the final release by the end of the month

A note on the nomenclature:
DEV300_mXX are the developmental builds of OO.o 3. The latest are leading towards OO.o 3.0.1
