Office Installation

Post by bobkusa »

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using?
What Operating System (version) are you using?
What is your question or comment?

I have downloaded and installed OpenOffice 2.1
Running on an iBook G4 with 512MB of Ram

After X11 opens, OpenOffice opens but the text is unreadable. During the installation process, I checked the box indicating use of the Mac Fonts. Why is the X11 text readable and OpenOffice text garbage. Incidentally, all of the logos in the OpenOffice menu bar are recognizable. It appears to be a problem just with the text.
How do I fix this?

Are you still having this problem? Have you tried reinstalling and installing a more recent version? The latest release is 2.4.1, and 3.0.0 with full native Mac OSX support (no more X11) is due out in a couple months.
openSUSE 11.4, KDE4.6 with OpenOffice.org 3.3
