I've installed Opence Office 2.4 with no problem on my main user account "mike"
Now when i located the Open Offier 2.4.app icon in my Applications folder, i first get prompted to use Apple Fonts, i say Yes, then another Font question, I say yes to then I get this error message:
sh: /Users/mike/library/Logs/OpenOffice2.log:Permission denied
I've had issues installing software (Adobe CS3) on this user account (mike) so I logged in another admin account, to try to finish the Open Office install, I got the same font messages, then open office eventually opened up.
I logged back into mike to get the same permission denied problem.
I have no idea why I have issues with my main account, it is in fact an admin account, and it was the original account i created when setting up Leopard 10.5.2.
I have no problem using my other account as my main account, but i need to transfer all my documents and stuff over to the account, and i can't because i have no permission to mike's documents under another account.
very frustrating, but any ideas why im getting this permission denied error on my mike account?
Thanks
mike

Re: Unable to complete install on main user account
Does your Library folder really start with a non capital 'l' ? That is at least unusual.
What happens if you just say 'no' to the second font question ?
