Frustated! Forced back to Neo Office for file opening issues

Post by hamstermoon »

I am a frustrated dyslexic ... I really like Open Office as I am on a PPC and still using OSX 4 - OOo it has a nifty useful grammar checker add on which gets round the lack of OSX 5 issues.

At the moment, however, whenever I save a document it won't open and save a second time. I get 'document XYX is locked for editing' and 'open document as read only or open a copy' which is very hard and gets right up my dyslexic sequencing problems' nose very badly.

Is anyone working to come up with a fix for this??

AFAIK these issues stem from problems with the lock files, and the fix(es) are targeted for 3.0.1.

This is expected in January: OOo 3.0.1 & 3.1 delayed.

If this has answered your question please go to your first post and use the Edit button, and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can also use the green tick icon.

Have you tried the workaround here: [Issue] Unable to save files twice (User data problem)?
