OOo3.0 freezes after a few seconds.

I'm having issues with OOo - calc. The app starts up alright and I'm able to choose from the startup screen. Then I choose to open an existing ODS-document which opens and looks OK. After a few seconds Calc freezes. It's not like OOo hangs. The drop down menus like Font size still shows when clicked, but nothing happens if I try to change size. Scroll also doesn't work.

The GUI seems to work fine, as well as buttons and suchlike; the process that handles all user input doesn't.

I've removed the prefs and tried another language, but it doesn't help.

I'm using OpenOffice.org 3.0.0 OOO300m9 (Build:9358) on a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.5. My java version is "1.5.0_16".
