As it is said in the banner, this board is:

User community support forum for Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice and all the OpenOffice.org derivatives

We even advise using MS Office when it is the only reasonable solution.

We are users helping other users finding the best way to achieve their tasks.
I've been a big supporter of AOO for a very long time (I've switched to LO in OCT-2020). But I've to admit that it seems just a dead horse now. Especially when you see the level of some discussions on the dev mailing list.
So, yes, let's face the reality, LibreOffice may be better now for most users.

Several problems have been discovered with applications, not only with OpenOffice, running on Big Sur. A fix for OpenOffice 4.1.8 on Big Sur is being actively worked on. it is also expected that there might be an Apple fix solving problems on other applications.

On the Forum we try to concentrate on solutions enabling people to get on with their work, however this is quickest done. If you don't like the advices given, disregard them.
