A15 says "System Preferences → Accessibility → Display → uncheck Increase contrast → Move slider for Display Contrast all the way to the left ." I don't see a section Display on/under Accessibility. I don't see a slider for Display Contrast. What? Eleanor

The screen images were helpful. Your screens were from OpenOffice → Preferences. However, Mac FAQ Q15/A15 says to look in → System Preferences. These settings are part of MacOS, not part of OpenOffice. In System Preferences look at Availability, then Display, as shown in lgusaas' post. You may have to scroll to see Display. You are strongly encouraged to visit your local library and borrow one of the many Introduction to Mac books. These will discuss System Preferences. Almost any of these books (titles vary), even one several years old, will be fine, since the basics haven't changed for many years. Spending a few hours reading the initial chapters will save you dozens of hours of time and frustration. A bit of basic knowledge about creating backups may prevent you from losing data.A15 wrote: → System Preferences → Accessibility → Display → uncheck Increase contrast → Move slider for Display Contrast all the way to the left if OpenOffice dialog buttons are hard to read on your Mac.
