Notice on starting OpenOffice!!

Post by Neilll1245 »

Just started getting this message on open office! The last time you opened OpenOffice.org, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?
How do I get rid of this notice!! there are to button options do not re-open or reopen, whichever I press the notice does not go away!!!
Using OS X Mavericks!!

Do you know if the file was created because of the occurrence of perhaps a force quit or some other improper shut down?
Or was it there already?

This can re-occur if AOO crashes or a force quit is used. This is a bug in AOO, which has been reported. It may be fixed in the upcoming release of AOO 3.4.1. I don't use OS X Lion so I cannot check to see if it is fixed.

I also just started getting this error message. It won't let me choose either option, or close it. I can no longer access OpenOffice. Does anyone have a solution? I am on Open Office 4.0.1, and Mac 10.10.1.

Did you read this thread? A link to the solution was given earlier. Did you not see it?

Yes, I had seen that post, and thought it did not answer the question for my version of Mac, but I looked again and I see I had misunderstood the instructions (I went straight to the library, I didn't go to the library while holding the option key). Once I realized my mistake, the instructions worked. Thank you!!! And thank god for this forum!! :D
