How do I install OpenOffice on Lubuntu?

Postby Benea » Thu Jul 04, 2019 8:45 am

So, I looked it up and one person said to type sudo apt-get install, but when I did that, I got the error:
Package "" has no installation candidate

So I was hoping someone knew of a way for me to install it on my Lubuntu system. I mainly need it as a replacement for word and powerpoint, and I know people say LibreOffice is better, and I do believe that, however every time I open LibreOffice, it crashes upon opening. Not sure what to do here. :/.

Have you read the installation instructions on the Apache OpenOffice site? See ... html#linux
Apache OpenOffice 420m2(Build:9821) - Slackware 14.2 - 64 bit
LibreOffice - Slackware 14.2 - 64 bit
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.4 - Windows 7 Virtual machine

How to fix LibreOffice in many cases:
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
killall soffice.bin
mv ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user.backup

if the restart of libreoffice shows any error messages on the command line, copy them and share with us
