I am trying to see if OO will solve some problems that I am having with LibreOffice.
I have removed LibreOffice from my system and installed all of the OpenOffice RPMs. Back in the day the command was soffice -writer but soffice is not on my system. Nor, for that matter did OO build menu entries in KDE. At this rate I am going to need to replace all of the hair that I have pulled out. Ugh!
I suppose it would be nice if I could start OO writer

Re: I suppose it would be nice if I could start OO writer
Code: Select all
/opt/openoffice4/program/swriter
In the tarball you got the rpms there is a subdirectory called desktop-integration containing desktop setups for various WMs - for KDE you need to install the one which has 'freedesktop-menus' in the name.
