Can't seem to open OA

Issues with installing under all Linux Distributions

Can't seem to open OA

Postby jmazzone » Wed Jan 18, 2017 4:18 pm

Installed OA 4.1.3 on Linux Mint and when I try to open OA (eg: "soffice -writer") only Libreoffice opens. Any hints?

Before installing OpenOffice on a linux distro which has LibreOffice by default, I always do
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
sudo apt purge libreoffice*

to remove all traces of LibreOffice.

Edit: One needs to use the appropriate root level command for one's specific linux distro. That given above is for distros that use DEB files. The trailing * is important.

You may be able to install LO as a Snap or Flatpak package, depending on your version of Linux Mint. See the LO site for more information.
