[Solved] Catching OpenOffice to run with Firefox

Post by visterine »

Friends good night.

First I apologize, I do not speak English and I'm using a translation tool.

Sometimes the pc is locked, the screen loses the setting and the pc hangs.

This only occurs when I use Firefox with OpenOffice (the same happened with LibreOffice). If you use one without the other is open the system does not crash.

The screen looks like when it crashes:

Be a problem with the Nvidia driver?

Any tips on how to fix this?

settings:
Distribution: Linux Mint 17 Qiana
Desktop Environment: X-Cinnamon
Processor: 4x AMD Athlon (tm) II X4 630 Processor
Memory: 8GB
Resolution: 1368x768 pixels
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a/integrated/SSE2
Nvidia 304 117
AOC e943Fwsk
Kernel: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic (x86_64)
X11 Vendor: The X.Org Foundation

No more and ecrto for your attention,

Visterine.

HI. I assume you have asked at your distro's forum.

I suppose one or the other of your profile folders could cause the problem. The LO profile folder is located at ~/.config/libreoffice. With all LO processes ended, try renaming that folder and a new profile will be created when you re-start LO. See these instructions.

I would do the same with the Firefox profile : ~/.mozilla at the same time. If the problem is then solved, rename the profile folders one at a time to find out which ( if either ) is the cause.

The problem may also be caused by your user account directory. The way to test that is to add another user and try using both software applications when logged into that account.

I have no problem using LO and Firefox at the same time. Indeed, I am using both as I type.

Digging OpenOffice discovered a possible solution.

Tools / Options:
LibreOffice> Display> Font Smoothing screen.
Changed to 13 Pixels.

Until now it's quiet. Rs
