[Issue] OpenOffice Scroll Bar

Post by djl47 »

The scroll bar should have a slider that is a different color than the rest of the bar. When I turn on high contrast I can see the slider. Otherwise the scroll bar and slider seem to be the same color. Between this and the unadjustable scroll rate of the mouse wheel scrolling has to be done with the page up/down or arrow keys. I see this effect in both Calc and Write. Anyone else see this?

The slider is light blue on my WinXp with AOO4.1.0. This is gives a good contrast and visibility for me.

It looks fine on my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 systems as well. Only in Linux Fedora is it invisible. The slider is there, I can probe the scroll bar with clicks. I know I'm on the slider when clicking the scroll bar doesn't scroll. I can see the scroll bar in Firefox without any problem.

Thanks. I went snorkling through search results seeking an alternative to the default themes.

"Install a theme" they said. "It will be fun." they said. "You'll learn something" they said ...

I installed some themes with a Fedora Yum package but the gnome tweak tool only offers the new themes on the Gnome shell. The Window and GTK+ themes are still constrained to Adwiata and high contrast.

It is interesting to see how far Linux has come since I dabbled with it ten years ago and how far it needs to go to be a viable desktop environment for the average user.

+1.
I thought that it would be more user friendly. Running xubuntu and I'm nto completely satisfied with the mix of settings I implemented.
