Hi:
I've used various distros of Linux (fedora, RHEL 5, ubuntu) and various versions of open office from 2-4. I use OO for document conversion using --headless --nofirstartwizard. The app has run happily for some time.
However, now I'm trying to get it running on RHEL 6.5.
When I fire the soffice directive with headless, the process 'hangs' and never returns. I have to ctrl-c to return
I've been search all over. In the old days, there was a openoffice.org-headless that I could install. I can't seem to find one for open office 4 and I'm reluctant to install the open office 3 version of headless.
I'm out of ideas. Has anyone else used Oo4 headless on RHEL 6.5 with success?
Or, how can I fire up soffice --headless and get lots and lots of trace/debug messaging?
Any help appreciated.
