Post by philo_neo »

hi,
I want to install openoffice4 on ubuntu 13.10.
i read this post : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2053290.

Code: Select all

If you get the "deb" file it should work on Ubuntu.
http://www.openoffice.org/download/other.html
There is an installation guide here
http://www.openoffice.org/download/c...html#linux-deb
The bit under the title "Linux DEB-based Installation" is the relevant part.
There is also a help forum here
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/index.php

Did you remember to

Code: Select all

cd desktop-integration
and then
dpkg -i *.deb (once again)?
The usual Ubuntu/Debian install problem for OpenOffice is caused by missing out this step.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
