This package is of bad quality (oo4 on UBUNTU 13.04)

Postby bobhurt » Sun Sep 22, 2013 10:37 pm

Installing oo4.0,0 on ubuntu 13.04
selected open office debian menus in desktop-integration folder
started the install in package manager
install aborted, complainint "This package is of bad quality."
details:

Lintian check results for /home/bob/Downloads/oo4/en-US/DEBS/desktop-integration/openoffice4.0-debian-menus_4.0-9702_all.deb:
E: openoffice-debian-menus: control-file-has-bad-permissions postinst 0775 != 0755
E: openoffice-debian-menus: control-file-has-bad-permissions postrm 0775 != 0755
E: openoffice-debian-menus: control-file-has-bad-permissions prerm 0775 != 0755
E: openoffice-debian-menus: maintainer-address-missing Apache Software Foundation

I could have selected INSTALL ANYWAY but decided not to.

The latest Libreoffice 4.0.2.2 writer has crashed several times on my without rhyme or reason, and I thought I'd use oo instead. Guess I won't.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Better install from command line, see: [Tutorial] Installing Apache OpenOffice on GNU/Linux or [Ubuntu] Installing OpenOffice on Debian and Co.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the edit button if your issue has been fixed.
AOO 4.1.5 on Xubuntu 18.04 and on Windows 7 (with winPenPack port).
