Hi friends,
i've bought one laptop (HP intel 64bit) with Suse Enterprise pre-installed.
My printer is one Epson Stylus SX110 and i've added the correct driver from Avasys. (epson-inkjet-printer-stylus-nx110-series-1.0.0-1lsb3.2.x86_64.rpm ->http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02 ... aff30bef08)
Now happen: the printer print well on every applications, except for OpenOffice.
If i try to print some file, it stop, the on/off led blink and the job remains in queue indefinitely...
Do you know similar cases?
many thanks!!

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
A trick that sometimes sorts printing problems is to install the print driver after installing OpenOffice.

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
Other postings, running on Ubuntu, say that to install an older driver and then replace it with a later driver cured problems. It might be worth trying this in Suse.

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
...i've seen that in the print settings for OpenOffice -> properties -> printer -> type of printer language is always set PDF and NOT postscript from driver.
If I set postscript, it's printing.
But if I close OpenOffice, it all comes back to PDF.
It can hit?
And how can I set postscript permanently?
thanks again

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
I think you also ought ask this on a Suse forum; I have had no problems with Epson/HP/Kyocera printer/scanners on Ubuntu.

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
yes, ive do, someone on suse forum think that "LibreOffice somewhat is not as good as wanted": http://forums.suse.com/showthread.php?1 ... ylus-SX110RoryOF: I think you also ought ask this on a Suse forum; I have had no problems with Epson/HP/Kyocera printer/scanners on Ubuntu.

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
Chopping and changing from one office suite to another may not help your problem, particularly if it is hardware related. Because of the common code base in OpenOffice and LibreOffice, changing from one to the other is hardly likely to cure your printer problem. All I can suggest is that you research what fixes other linux distros use to get SX110 running and try these on your Suse installation. Try searching again for drivers at

Re: OpenOffice and Epson Stylus SX110
future attempts:
i will add a new "fax" printer, using "/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/spadmin",
on the command line field i will add "/usr/bin/gtklp, trying to bypass the print command of LibreOffice.
I will let you know if it works
