Post by Gael »

Hi everyone
I am a newcommer in the linux sphere, and I have a problem with open office. It doesn't want to start, I have the following message :
"The application cannot be started. The interface language cannot be determined."
I had no problem under Kubuntu, since I have Ubuntu it can't work, neither with the 7.10 nor Hardy heron. I tried upgrading, fixing, uninstalling and re-installing... no use
Please Help Me !
My computer is a Hp pavillion (zv6000) laptop

Since the installation itself is probably in order, I would try renaming my settings folder (a hidden file named something like .openoffice2 in your home folder). If you subsequently manage to launch the application, it will create a new settings folder.

If nothing has worked, you can try the official version: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co.
