Start OpenOffice.org in CentOS

I am trying to start openoffice3 in centos , failing with this error

[root@ACFAS11 ~]# /usr/lib64/openoffice.org3/program/soffice
/usr/lib64/openoffice.org3/program/soffice.bin X11 error: Can't open display:
   Set DISPLAY environment variable, use -display option
   or check permissions of your X-Server
   (See "man X" resp. "man xhost" for details)



please help me resolve this.
windows xp open office 2.4

Hello

What version do you use? You say 2.4 and also 3.4!

I think you have not a active window server. For openSUSE i have to do: int 5 to get an activ window server.
I think it is not a question of OOo but of your OS.
